Weapons of Protection

Lady of Light

In the book of Nehemiah, 4:1_18 speaks about how Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabians, and the Amonites and the Ashdodites conspired to fight Jerusalem and hinder it from building its walls. Nevertheless, (V9) "Nevertheless, we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night because of them."

About two weeks ago, we were invited to National Crime Night Out in our community - the concept of "Crime Watch" was brought forth by the Police Chief who was present and information was given out about community resources to fight crime. Citizen's watch is one of their most effective weapon. This is similar to the way "a watch" was set against the enemies of the Jews.

In Vs. 15-17, it Nehemiah continues, "And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall and everyone unto his work. . And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons: and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah."

They actually worked with one hand and held weapons with the other. Going to this crime watch reminded us of how the police with their weapons protect us as we go about but as Christians we also know that God and His guardian angels protect us as well. Our weapon is to pray and watch. Also to trust God for His protection, whether it be his angels or the people he puts in charge here on earth.

Work with the weapon of prayer at all times and you can be rest assured, God's protection will be upon you.

God bless you and have a great day!
