A Message From A Dear Friend

Lady of Light

Last May, my dear friend Jane went home to be with the Lord. I miss her and think of her often. When her husband was clearing out some of her belongings, I packed away some keepsakes. We are getting ready to move soon, so I was going through all of the things in my closet. There was one bag with things wrapped carefully in newspaper.

As I opened the items, one by one, first I saw little Christmas presents I had bought for friends at flea markets in the summer and had forgotten to give them out at Christmas. Then I came across two lovely miniature tea pots that I bought to enhance my knicknac collection.

Lastly, I found a beautiful new coffee mug. "Oh my," I said to myself,"This belonged to my dear friend, Jane. I looked carefully at the message on the mug and got a warm feeling, thinking, Janie is sending me a message from above right now:

"May blessings come from heaven above to fill your life with peace and love."

I felt that she was sending me this comforting wish!

Life is full of blessings and surprises. Our God is so good!

Have a great day!

All Authorities Are Ordained of God

Lady of Light

I listened intently to Governor Blagojevich's speech today after his impeachment. He mentioned something he learned in Sunday School. Did he happened to learn that in the book of Romans 13:1 which states:

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

To me, this means that if the Legislature tells you that you can't spend funds you don't just go ahead and spend them anyway. That is ignoring authority and it is illegal.

The former governor spoke about Health care for uninsured women and children, less expensive drugs for seniors and other issues which would no doubt warm the hearts of the American people. The problem is that with his "Robin hood Complex" - steal from the rich and give to the poor - he broke the law and did not behave with the propriety of a person in his position.

I don't know what he is being indicted for exactly, but I'm sure it has to do with other things he didn't learn in Sunday School.

Most people appreciate Alfred Lord Tennyson and Rudyard Kipling, but it seems to me that either he or his speech writer are simply trying to divert our attention away from his wrongdoing.

The House blocked many of his attempts to do what appear to be good things but that doesn't give him the right to just take matters in his own hands.

Attitudes towards working within the confines of government authority are far more important than whatever it was that he was trying to accomplish.

I have a great deal of compassion for him and for his family at this time because I know that it must be very difficult what they are going through, but for him to try to divert the American people and to deceive himself into believing that he has done nothing wrong, is of great concern.

We need to pray for those in authority and for our country. It seems more and more things that are displeasing are surfacing.

God Bless you and Happy New Year,

Lady of Light
