Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged

Lady of LIght

In Mathew Chapter 7:2, it reminds us that "For with what judgment you judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

There is a natural tendency to look at the world, the shortcomings of others and make judgments if we are not careful. The bible tells us first to examine ourselves. I know I became a better person when I realized that I could learn from my mistakes and also from the mistakes of others. When you are learning life's lessons, it is not the same as judging. The bible is full of examples of mistakes that were made by God's people. Not so we could judge them, but so we could learn from them and also learn about the love and mercy of God. The bible says "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." We all need to come into a personal relationship with Jesus and to accept him as our personal Savior to have the forgiveness of sins.

There are many people who don't really know this. They feel helpless in their sins.
We need to encourage, pray for and share the gospel with as many people as we can.

Today I received an e-mail about happiness. It said that being happy is not when everything is perfect, but when we can overlook imperfections. This is truly a way of not criticizing and judging but being free to enjoy life. However, it is not good to overlook our sinfullness to the point where we don't look to Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. In 1 John it tells us that anyone who says they have not sinned is a liar and the truth is not in them.

So try to be happy and keep a balanced perspective but take care of those areas of your life where you need to deal with your sin. In 1 John 1:9 it says, "If we confess our sins, he is just and faithful to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is a wonderful promise and I hope you will claim it for yourself today.

God bless you and have a great day!
