God's Mercy

Lady of Light

In Romans 9:15 it says "For he (God) saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy."

Sometimes we have a tendency to think that we are in control, but it is God who shows mercy and compassion or stirs our hearts to mercy and compassion in the Spirit. A human tendency may be to think that someone should "get what they deserve" in certain situations, but it is really up to God if he chooses to show mercy or compassion or to stir us to do so. I know that I have had care and compassion for some situations and that it has come from God because, in my own strength without him, I wouldn't have this.

As you go about your day, thank God that He is in control, that He is merciful and compassionate as He chooses, and that He stirs us to compassion and mercy at times.

Have a great day!

The exceedingly wise on the earth

Lady of Light

In Proverbs 30:24-28 Says

"There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks. The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; the spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces."

In Genesis 1:1, it tells us, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth..." This includes the ants, the conies, the locusts and the spider. I think it is amazing that we can learn wisdom from four things which are little upon the earth.
As you read about this, think of how God can help you to apply these truths to your own life.

We can learn much from the "little things" in life!

God bless you and have a great day!

Be Doers of the Law

Lady of Light

In Romans, Chapter 2:10:15, it tells about doing good:

"But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the gentile. For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without the law also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law. (For not the hears of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscinece also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another.)"

What stands out in all of this to me is that we have to be DOERS, not just HEARERS and it is the heart that God looks upon. Many do things with ulterior motives other than to glorify God - God knows what is in their hearts. Many hear, but don't respond to the promptings of conscience or knowledge of what is right.

Each day I ask God to cleanse my heart and mind in Christ Jesus for in 1 John 1:9, God promises, "If we confess our sins, He is just and faithful to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

I pray that today, you will be blessed by these promises of "peace and glory to them that do good" and be "cleansed of all unrighteousness", as you confess your sins.

Have a great day!
