God promises to provide a way out of temptation

Lady of Light

In 1 Corinthians 10:13, God says:

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that he may be able to bear it."

This speaks to me that even in small temptations, we should call out to God so that He as he promised will deliver us out of whatever it is. He promised that he will be faithful and provide a way out of any temptation. This is a wonderful promise - call upon God and he will deliver us. Even in the Lord's prayer, we pray that "he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for His names sake". We can trust God to do this for us.

In I Corinthians, Chapter 10, Paul doesn't want us to be ignorant of what happened to our fathers before us - In verse 5 he says "with many of them, God was not well-pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness." These things were our example that we would not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

In verse 7, it warns about being idolatersand for those who commited fornication, 320,000 fell in one day.

In verse 11, it tells us "now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."

We can learn from the mistakes of those who lived in biblical times - about God's discipline and also about his mercy.

It is a true blessing that we can go to God expecting to be delivered from temptation, and seeing the examples from scriptures, perhaps not to make the same mistakes as those who went before us.

We need to live and learn and I am thankful that we have the word of God as a guide.

As you think upon these verses, I hope that you will be edified and joyful knowing
that God has promised to deliver us from temptation and has the power to do so.

God bless you and have a great day!
