Stir Up Your Mind

Lady of Light

Often as we go about in our day, our mind is on many different things. The traffic, things we need to do, letters to write, phone calls to make, chores, work, or maybe appointments, caring for children, pets, and home.

In 2 Peter, Chapter 3:1 it is interesting that Peter writes "This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of rememberance: That ye may be mindful of the world which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior.

Peter warns: (3:3) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying "Where is the prormise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they are willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing outt of the water and in the water: Whereby, the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men.

He stresses: (3:8) "But beloved, be not ignorant of this on thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is lognsuufering to us-ward not willing than any should perish, but that all should come to repentence."

So, continue to pray for sinners, and to witness to those who need to come to repentence and accept Jesus as their personal Savior. The Lord, as Peter stated, does not wish that any perish. We must have an answer and a new hope to give to "scoffers" that comes from our faith and from the word of God.

As I continue in my day, I am going to pray for some who I know are in need and be mindful of any opportunities to share God's word and his gospel with people. I am also going to do some more reading of His word so that I will be prepared in the spirit to give a fresh answer for "the faith that is within me." May you do the same.

God bless you and have a great day!
