FAITH

Lady of Light

We speak alot about "faith' - our "faith" and the sharing of "faith". In Hebrews Chapter 11:1, we have God's definition of faith.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we undersstand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen wer not made of things which do appear.

As we listen to news reports about things going on in the world and as we deal with our daily struggles in our personal lives, let us realize that God is in control and that the world is "framed by the word of God". So, we can take heart and be not discouraged because God is truly in control. When we pray, we know he hears our prayers and our wishes for personal healing and for the healing of our great country.

In verse 6, it tells us:

"Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is , and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

This is a wonderful promise - that God is a rewarder.

This chapter also gives biblical examples of men of great faith: Chapter 11:4 tells us:

"By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness, that he was righteous."

Chapter 11:5: "By faith Enoch awas translated that he should not see death and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation, ne had this testimony that he pleased God."

Chapter 11:7 "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith."

Chapter 11:8 "By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed: and he went out, not knowing whither he went"

These examples of faith are written in detail in the book of Genesis. Today, God may call you to go somewhere or do something like he did Abraham - we all need to be willing to live by the biblical definition of faith and respond to God's call and to view the world as being "framed by the word of God with God in control."

May you have a positive vision of your faith today and live accordingly.

Have a great day and God bless you!
