Gifts Money Can;t Buy

In the Book of Acts, Chapter 8:17, "Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles; hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money. Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost."

"But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee: because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money."

When we think about the things we buy-products for the skin, hair, cosmetics - things to look better - supplements, vitamens - things to be healthier - how to books - learn more about how to do things - vacations - go and relax and be refreshed - cars - move quicker and get from one place to another faster. The list of things we do to achieve more comfort and to feel better are endless. But, the
true gifts that come from the Spirit of God are priceless and cannot be purchased.
These are the things that truly enhance our life and give it meaning. We must
understand, that to pray and receive the gifts of God are our greatest blessings.
This man didn't realize this at all. He thought he could purchase what only God can give.

Let us be thankful not only for the material things that God allows us to have but for the spiritual blessings he continuously bestows upon those who are His children.

The next time you think you don't have extra money to buy something or even if you do have money and buy something, remember it is salvation and the free blessings of God and Christ that really matter.
