Lady of Light
Isn't it nice to know that as Christians and children of God we are "set apart" or in more technical terms "sanctified". This is a great comfort when you see the many things that go on in this world that we really don't want to be part of. Just listen to the news or read the paper and I think you will agree with me.
In Psalm 4:3-6, David says:
"But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will her when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed and be still.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
There will be many that say Who will show us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us."
So, these verses let us know that we are set apart for God and that he will hear us when we call him. This is a promise of God that we need to remember especially when we don't get an answer right away. God hears us when we call out to him.
And, of course, David reminds us to put our trust in the Lord.
