The Armor of God

Lady of Light

In this world, with all of its temptations and distractions, we definitely need to heed the Apostle Paul's command to "put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (Ephesians 6:11).

When we go outside in the rain, we think of using rain gear or an umbrella, but how many of us stop to think if we are "putting on the armor of God"? Paul describes what the armor of God is in verses 14-16:

"Stand therefore, having your lions girt about with the truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God".

He continues:

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and with watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."

Simply put, each day spend some time in the word. Make sure your doctrinal teaching is sound and comes from the truth of the word of God. I hear many things spoken, but I always ask the question: "Does it line up with the word of God?"

When we are busy praying for our needs and the needs of others, Satan must flee.

This, of course is a special time to meditate on the life, death and resurrection of our Lord, and I know that today, as I am busy with preparation for guests tomorrow, I am going to remain in prayer and meditation.

May the Lord help you to prepare your hearts and minds for the celebration of Easter.

God Bless You.

Have a great day!
