The Inspired Word of God

Lady of Light

Have you ever met someone who says that the bible is an interesting book but that it isn't really "true" but is just a historical or literary work? As Christians, we need to be able to share the fact that the bible is none other than God's inspired word.
There are people who pick and choose what they are going to believe in the bible as if they were at a smorgasbord - "If I like it, I'll try it."

When we go to 2 Timothy 2:16, it states:

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

You notice that it says ALL scripture. This verse is one that you should know about if you don't already, and if you do know about it, share it with others. Doctrines must be based on the whole counsel of the Word as well as any guidance or correction that we may receive. We are not to take things out of context and come to our own conclusions about doctrine or teaching. If you have a concordance in your bible or have access to a separate concordance, you can usually find what the bible has to say about a particular subject. There are also commentaries that are helpful.

I write this because I want to see you, and everyone you come in contact with receiving the right guidance, teaching and information.

As you study the word, meditate on this verse in Timothy so you will be totally opened to God and what he has to say to you.

May I wish you all a good Labor Day weekend and I hope that the weather holds up wherever you are so that you may enjoy it.

God bless you and have a great day!
