Paul's Wish for Ephesus and Surrounding Churches

Lady of Light

Many scholars regard the book of Ephesians as a circular letter intended for all the churches in and around Ephesus. In his salutation in Chapter one, v. 16-18, Paul expresses prayerful wishes for the saints:

"Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, thee Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints."

Following Paul's example, let us pray for one another and be thankful for those in our church and in the body of Christ. Paul had "an attitude of gratitude" and he knew how to request good things for God's people. What better gifts than wisdom and revelation of the knowledge of Christ? Do you understand the hope of his calling?
Are you truly aware of the riches of the glory of his inheritance?

These are certainly wonderful things for us to meditate on. As we go through our day,
let's take time to thank God for the people in our churches and lives, and to think on the wonderful blessing we have and wish for others.

God bless you and have a great day!
