Come into the Light
Lady of Light
in John 3:18-21< Jesus said:
"He that believeth on him is not condemned: baut he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."
This reminds me of people who shy away from church because they aren't perfect - they know that they have sin in their life. But also know that if you have Jesus as your personal savior in your life, Jesus says; "if you confess your sins, he is just and faithful to forgive your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness."
Don't be afraid to come into the light - or afraid that your deeds will be reproved-be like those that doeth truth and cometh to the light, that his deeds may be manifest that they are wrought in God.
God bless you and have a great day!

Divisions
Lady of Light
In Romans 10:17-18, the apostle Paul warns the brethren to "Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple."
This warning must have been necessary or Paul wouldn't have included these instructions in Romans. Sometimes, people have charisma or speaking capabilities, but they deceive the hearts of the simple - those who serve Jesus and live in peace and unity of the Spirit are the good examples.
God bless you and have a great day!

The Key to David's Prayer Ps 31
Lady of Light
"In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust" let me never be ashamed; deliver me in thy righteousness." Ps. 31
This, I believe, is a reminder to us to acknowledge God and put our trust in Him in all things - and to trust in His deliverance and righteousness.
So often, we trust in ourselves and when things go wrong, we turn to God. Let's turn to God first in all things.
Fully trust in Him today.
God bless you and have a great day!

Restoration
Lady of Light
Sometimes there is a need to try to restore one who has been taken over by a fault or a sin - Paul's instructions are in Galations 6: 1-4:
"Bretheren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove hos own work; and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."
These instructions were written to the church of Galatia but I believe they are also for the church of today - not only that, but if we could consider this attitude whenever we have to correct someone, even outside the church or in our family, I believe the saying that "Attitude is Everything". May these words encourage you as you deal with others in your life.

Instructions and warnings of false teaching
Lady of Light
In 2 Timothy 4:1-5 states:
"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will no endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts, shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof thy ministry."
These instructions and warnings were given to Timothy, a young pastor but they are applicable for us to preach the word and do the work of God, being aware of the pitfalls of false teaching. Hopefully, you will encounter people to whom you can witness for Jesus Christ in spirit and truth.

Warnings and Instructions
Lady of Light
In 2 Timothy 2:19-26, the bible states:
"Nevertheleess, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ DEPART FROM INIQUITY. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master;s use and prepared PREPARED UNTO EVERY GOOD WORK. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace with them that call on the Lord with a pure heart. But FOOLISH AND UNLEARNED QUESTIONS AVOID, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but he gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. In MEEKNESS instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."
These verses tell us that people can become captive to the devil and how to guard against this and how to help others. It is attitude of the heart and meekness that is necessary and to live free from iniquity - these are good instructions to follow if you want your life to be better and you want to be able to help others too.

Instruction to Servants
Lady of Light
In Ephesians Chapter 6:5-8, it states:
"Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ: Not with eye service, as men pleaers; but as the servants Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free."
I believe that the key thing here is attitude and motive for what we do. Too many times, we boast about what we do or we do things with a selfish motive instead of unto the Lord. We must pray and examine our hearts as we do whatever it is that we believe God wants us to do.
As you meditate on this, consider living in God's design in dealing with anyone who has authority over you.

Call on the Name of the Lord
Lady of light
In 1 Corinthians 1:1-2 it states:
"Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sothenes our brother, Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours..."
So often, we have a tendency to think, analyze and solve or resolve situations and circumstances in our life, but our first, most direct, and most simple solution is simply to call upon the name of the Lord. This was what the apostle Paul characterized of the saints in Corinth and to all who are in the church of God.
Remember that calling on the name of the Lord is the best and wisest thing you can do.

Judging
Lady of Light
1 Corinthians 5:1-4 states:
"Dare any of you, having a matter against another go to law before the unusual and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world and if the world shall be judged you you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life. If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church."
It is important as Paul says to seek peace and pursue it by handling matters within the church rather than going outside to the law whenever possible.
Some people go running to the law when things can be resolved with prayer and communication among the members of the church. It is best not to resort to that, especially concerning believers.
This is sound advice given to the church at Corinth which still applies today.

The Grace of God
Lady of Light
In Ephesians 2:8-10, it states:
"For by grace ye are saved through faith: and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
So often, there is a tendency for us to think there is something we can do to earn our salvation or that somehow our works add to it, but in these verses, Paul is letting us know that our salvation is truly a gift of God, by his grace. As far as our works are concerned, they are ordained in God for us to do. This gives us a certain perspective on our relationship with Christ and also what our attitude should be in terms of the good things that we do.
Praise be to God for what he has done for us in Christ and how he allows us the privilege of serving him.

Advice on Life
Lady of Light
In 1 Peter 3:8-12 it states:
"Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous. Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing: knowing that ye are thereunto called, that we should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile. Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."
This is the guideline for how we need to live, seeking unity and peace and being compassionate of one another. It is certainly a challenge, but one that we can lean towards with God's help.

Prove the Will of God
Lady of Light
In Romans 12:1-2, it talks about how we as Christians should be.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."
A transformation can only take place in the Spirit and of the living God. The renewing of the mind happens when we read the word of God - it has the power to renew us.

Praying for the Saints
Lady of Light
In 1 Thessalonians, 1-7, we have the apostle Paul, Silvanus and Timothy praying for the saints there:
"Paul and Slivanus and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, withjoy of the Holy Ghost: So that ye were examples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia."
Here, we have a good role model of godly men praying for those in the church and recognizing what God did in their lives and being grateful for it. If you are in a church, you also can take the opportunity to pray for those in the church and recognize what God is doing in your life and in the life of the church. I personally say special prayers for the churches involved in the TV ministries such as Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar and Charles Stanley because, not only are they building up their own churches, they are reaching out to millions all over the world. I also pray for the church of which I am a member and for the people in it because God is working in all of their lives and to prepare us to do His work here in the world.
Take time out today to appreciate what God is doing in your life and in the lives of the saints you are involved with.

Wisdom
Lady of Light
Proverbs 8: 10-20 describes wisdom and how we should seek after it:
"Receive my instruction and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it I, wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and rich and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgement..."
We often mix up our value system and in reading Proverbs 8, I can see that to value wisdom above other things is best. In the book of James, it says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." James 1:5-7.
I am glad that we can ask God, and trust God to give us divine wisdom when we need it. So when you find that you are facing different trials and situations in life, it is a true comfort to know that you can ask and rely on God's wisdom.
God bless you and have a great day!

Walk Worthy
Lady of Light
In Ephesians 4:1-6 states:
"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy pf the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling: One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all who is above all, and through all and in you all."
This seems to indicated that we must be in unity and peace We must walk as children of God - Paul is instructing the church at Ephesus in these matters.

Tears will be gone! All things will be new!
Lady of Light
In Revelation 21:1-5, we have John telling us a vision of the future - "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as aa bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them and their God. AND GOD SHALL WIPE AWAY ALL TEARS FROM THEIR EYES; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things have passed away."
This is awesome! According to my commentary, "There is a question whether chapters 21 and 22 deal with the Eternal State alone or whether they alternate between the Milennium and the Eternal State. Since the Millennium and eternity are similar in many ways, it is not surprising if they seem to merge at times in the writings of the Apostle John. Here the Eternal State is called the new heaven and earth described in Isaiah 65:17-25. There the Millennium is in view because sin and death are still present. These will be completely excluded from the Eternal State."
But this information about the future is good news-no tears, no pain and former things will pass away. However, in Revealation 21:8, there is a warning. It states:
""But not all are overcomers. Some are cowardly, afraid to confess Christ; unbelieving, unwilling to trust the sinner's Savior, ....all those who remain in their sins, whether guilty of the gross iniquities listed here or not; abominable, given over to disgusting immorality; .....these will be assigned to the lake of fire as their final destiny."
We have an opportunity now to develop a trusting relationship in Christ and to eventually be part of the good things that God has planned. We are blessed.
If you haven't trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, the time is NOW.
1 John 1:9 tells us, "If you confess your sins, He is just and faithful to forgive your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness."
Draw near to Christ and accept Him as your Savior if you have not done so! If you have done so, rejoice in the Eternal Truth of the Word.
God bless you and have a great day!

Unity
Lady of Light
In 1 Corinthians, 1:10, the apostle Paul says:
"Now I beseech you, brethren by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement."
Apparently, there were contentions among the members of the church of Corinth - the people were saying that they were of different leaders and teachers, when, in fact, they were all of Christ. It is in Christ, that we truly find unity of the spirit and the bond of peace. There are many Christian leaders that God uses, but it is the Holy Spirit that speaks and gives unity through all. If you are experiencing disunity with your church, remember that you are all of the same body - the body of Christ.
God bless you and have a great day!

Pride
Lady of Light
In Ezekisl 28z1-10, the pride, wisdom and wealth of the prince of Tyre are described in verses 1-6, and then his destruction by the Babylonians in verses 7-10. "No doubt this prince foreshadows the Antichrist." (Believers' Bible Commentary, William MacDonald).
"The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; because thine heard is lifted up and thou hast said I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God: Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and has gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: By thy great wisdom and by thy traffic has thou increased thy riches and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches."
Tyrus was destroyed because of his pride. He thought of himself as a God. This should be a lesson to us to think of ourselves as mortal man and live in humble dependency of God. It is easy to lose our perspective if we are not careful.
Know that "Every good and perfect gift Lady of Light
It is Important
to remember that "Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning".
James 1:17
It is important to keep our perspective and depend on God, not lifting ourselves up as Gods. Pride leads to destruction.

Light or Darkness??
Lady of Light
In John 2:9-11 states:
"He that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him."
We can either walk in the light of God's love or walk blindly in the darkness with hatred for our brothers. You know you are in the light if you love. If you are harboring unforgiveness or hatred, do according to 1 John 1:9 and claim God's promise that "if you confess your sins, he is just and faithful to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
May you be blessed by the reading of the word.
God bless you and have a great day.

Do the Will of God
Lady of Light
In the book of 1 John, 2:15 - 17, it tells us:
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will og God abideth for ever."
These verses remind me not to be distracted by the world, but to focus on God and Jesus and the purpose for which we are here to testify of the love of God and the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. The word also tells us to pray without ceasing, and one can't really be in a prayerful state if inundated by the things of this world. May you ask God to give you a time of meditation and closeness to Him and to keep the right perspective. I pray that God will guard our minds and hearts in Christ Jesus.
God bless you and have a great day!
