Fear - What does God Promise in Psalm 34?

by Lady of Light

Whether we like to admit it or not, fear is a part of what we sometimes experience in life. I marveled at the decisions I made because of even some little fear and finally said, "What does God say about this?" I found myself reading Psalm 34:

"I will bless the Lord at all times,
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord,
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord and he heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears."

It is possible that we experience fear and it can bring us to a point of seeking the Lord, and he then hears and delivers us from our fears as he did with David. Instead of shrinking away from God, David blessed the Lord and praised him continuously. He left a wonderful example for us to follow and testified of the Lord's personal deliverance from fear. What a wonderful miracle. Remember this when you find yourself in fear of anything.

God bless you and have a great day!
